By inviting you to participate in a dialogue and valuing your voices, we strive to build a community around writing, teaching, and learning on the TU Dortmund University campus. It is important to realize that we are not a drop-off editing service, and we expect our clients and course participants to be genuinely interested in and motivated to work on their writing projects and writing processes. We do not “fix” papers for them.
Our training and support formats include
Our 15-week writing courses invite you to work on papers and presentations in your own field by providing a framework that optimizes your writing processes. In addition, these courses allow for a teacher and peer feedback on your writing.
These workshops allow you to engage in an ongoing conversation about the craft of academic and professional writing. The sessions are organized as blocks of teacher input and in-class writing activities that intend to increase your authority and responsibility as writers and readers. In addition, these workshops alert you to the issues and challenges that accompany any good writing.
Short workshops (2 hours)
This type of workshop provides you with tips and strategies for managing your writing at different stages and for working on different parts of your papers. An interactive and dynamic setting of these workshops is a good place to start engaging with writing in a more efficient way.
PAULLA: An Autonomous Learning Writing Course
The purpose of this format is to provide writing support to clients seeking regular counseling and structured guided writing support. Much of teacher feedback on your writing can be provided electronically.
Individual counseling
We offer feedback on any type of academic or technical writing to all TU Dortmund University students, staff, and researchers. When attending your counseling session, please be realistic. Our goal is to help you discover your own approaches to creating and editing your drafts. We will not grade or edit your papers.
Booklet
